For this project, I had to design a ‘riverstop’ poster that was 297mm x 420mm portrait to fit in an existing frame (like the bus timetables). River Tours is the new name for the leisure services promoting three new river routes on the River Thames. My publicity had to educate people about the London landmarks and show how the river transport links with the rest of London’s public transport.
I also designed my own symbols which showed the facilities avaliable on the different boats. I did some variations, but decided on the black on white - left hand column
Live commentary in English, Multi-lingual recorded commentary
Light snacks and drinks, Disabled access, Wifi, Toilets
For this project I had to design the conference programme, the poster, and an additional promotional item for The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) annual conference.
The look and feel for the publicity was architectural and contemporary as stated in the brief. My design was inspired by the work of Bob Noorda, a true legend of Modernism, and other Modernist designers. The concept of the brand (briefly) is that the multi coloured rings represent the many styles of architecture we now see in London, and which the RIBA is very proud of, as London leads the way in modern and diverse buildings.
(Double-sided net which would be folded for a pocket-sized programme)
